Why has Punjab been named so?

Punjab derives its name from the Persian words 'panj', meaning five, and 'aab', meaning water, literally translating to "five waters" of ancient India's Indus River system: the Sutlej, Beas, Ravi, Chenab, and Jhelum rivers.
