What area of Texas gets tornadoes?
Tornadoes can occur anywhere in Texas, but they are most common in the central and northern parts of the state. The area known as "Tornado Alley" stretches from the Gulf Coast to the Canadian border and includes much of Texas. This region is particularly vulnerable to tornadoes due to its location in the path of severe thunderstorms that form when warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico meets cold, dry air from the north.
