Spanish Wine Tours

Spain is known for its quality wines, especially its reds. This was not always the case. Before the late 1800s, Spanish wines were considered to be "cheap and hearty" but "with little finesse," according to Wine Pages. Spain's ascension began after a root pest devastated many of France's vineyards and winemakers from Rioja stepped in to fill the gap. Now, according to a 2010 article on Winophila, "no wine-producing region, or country, offers the sheer volume of bang-for-the-buck red wines." If you'd like to explore the wines of Spain, take one of the country's many wine tours.
