Where Did the Anasazi Live in North America?

The Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloans) inhabited the Four Corners region—where Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona meet—from ~1000 BCE to 1300 CE. Descended from the Basketmaker culture (7000–500 BCE), they built iconic cliff dwellings in canyons/mesas, farmed corn/beans/squash, raised turkeys, hunted, and crafted pottery, textiles, jewelry, and tools. Their decline around 1300 CE is attributed to climate change, drought, and warfare. By 1350 CE, they had migrated elsewhere.
