What city did Isis come from?

The city of Isis is located in northeastern Iraq, approximately 10 miles north of the city of Mosul. The city is named after the ancient Egyptian goddess of the same name, who was worshipped as a protector of women and children. Isis was originally a small village, but it grew rapidly in size during the 19th century when it became a major trading centre. The city is home to a number of historical sites, including the ruins of the ancient city of Nineveh and the tomb of the prophet Jonah.
