The Alps are the longest mountain range in Europe and stretch for about 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) from the Mediterranean Sea in the south to the Adriatic Sea in the north. They are home to some of the highest peaks in Europe, including Mont Blanc, which is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, with an elevation of 4,808 meters (15,774 feet).
