Who were the first people to settle in America?

The first people to settle in America were Paleo-Indians, who crossed the Bering Strait from Asia to North America around 15,000-12,000 years ago. They were nomadic hunter-gatherers who lived in small groups and relied on native plants and animals for sustenance. These Paleo-Indians gradually spread throughout the continent and developed various cultures and traditions, eventually giving rise to the rich diversity of indigenous peoples that exist in America today.
