Where in the world is chichen itza?

Chichén Itzá is located on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. It is about 120 miles east of Mérida, the capital of Yucatán State. Chichén Itzá was a major city of the Maya civilization from about 750 to 1200 AD. It is best known for its impressive ruins, which include the massive pyramid known as El Castillo or Kukulcán.
