Over 80% of Qatar's population (estimated 2+ million) lives in Doha, the capital and largest city, on the eastern coast. Doha is the country's economic, political, and cultural heart, with rapid development: skyscrapers (West Bay), malls (Villaggio, Festival City), museums (National Museum, MIA), education (Education City), and transport (Hamad Airport, Metro).

Smaller populations reside in Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Dukhan, and industrial zones.
