Latin American Countries on Both Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea

Mexico and Belize are the two Latin American nations with coastlines on both the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

  • Mexico: Gulf coast (Tamaulipas to Yucatán); Caribbean coast (Quintana Roo, including Cancún, Cozumel).
  • Belize: Entire coast is Caribbean; but its northern waters (Chetumal Bay) connect to the Gulf via the Yucatán Channel, giving it de facto access. (Some definitions consider only Mexico as bordering both directly.)
