How many deserts are in the Middle West?

There are no deserts in the Midwest region of the United States. The Midwest consists of the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The climate of the Midwest is generally humid continental, with hot summers and cold winters. Deserts are characterized by their extremely dry climates, with very little rainfall and high temperatures.
