The Caribbean region consists of the Caribbean Sea, its surrounding islands and the surrounding coasts. The Caribbean islands are divided into three groups: the Greater Antilles, the Lesser Antilles, and the Lucayan Archipelago. The Greater Antilles include the islands of Cuba, Hispaniola (which contains the countries of Haiti and the Dominican Republic), Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. The Lesser Antilles are a chain of islands that stretch from the Virgin Islands in the north to Grenada in the south. The Lucayan Archipelago includes the islands of The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands.
