Ávila is a city of Spain and the capital of the province of Ávila.

It is 1,132 metres above sea level, the highest provincial capital in Spain. It is the highest city over 50,000 people in Europe. Ávila is famous for its completely preserved city walls from the12th century and many Romanesque churches; Ávila was declared a World Heritage Site on 4 December 1985 by UNESCO in the category Cultural.
