Boulogne-Billancourt: Paris's Immediate Western Suburb

Boulogne-Billancourt is a dense, affluent commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department, just 1.6 miles (2.6 km) west-southwest of central Paris (measured from Place de l'Étoile / Arc de Triomphe).

It is effectively a contiguous extension of the capital, served by Metro Line 9 and 10, multiple bus lines, and major thoroughfares (Boulevard Périphérique, A13). Once an industrial hub (Renault factories), it has transformed into a media, technology, and residential center (Île Seguin redevelopment, Seine Musicale).

Population: ~120,000. Part of the Métropole du Grand Paris.
