Ludington State Park is located between Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake. This park includes over six miles of shoreline from Lake Michigan and has access to many activities including boating, camping, fishing and bike trails. They have a one-and-a-half-mile long paved bicycle path that goes through the main park area. The park also has another one-and-a-half-mile gravel road that ends at the Big Sable Point Lighthouse. They offer bikes for rental fee if you don't have your own to use.
The Hart-Montague bicycle trail begins at John Gurney Park in Hart, MI, and is 22.5 miles long. This paved trail runs south to Montague and goes through various small towns while passing many restaurants and shops, giving you something to do if you need a break from bike riding. There are no cars on this bike path which makes the trail safe and child friendly.
Located just 15 miles of Ludington is Pentwater Pathways. Pentwater Pathways is typically a cross-country skiing area, however in the summer, spring, and fall it is available for both walking trails and biking trails. The bike trail includes four loops that total 15 miles. Their trails range from beginner level to advanced level, and covers soft hills with various wildlife throughout the path.
Big M Cross Country Ski Trails is located within driving distance of Ludingtion. This is also a skiing trail and they do have bike paths available during the warmer spring, fall, and summer months. They have many mountain biking activities available.
