Amusement and Water Parks in Michigan

People in Michigan take advantage of their long, cold winters by heading to the ski resorts. But when the weather turns warm, they look for outdoor activities. Although amusement parks are few and far between, there are still a few in the state that offer a fun way to bask in the summer sunshine.
  1. Michigan's Adventure

    • Michigan's Adventure, located near Michigan's west coast, opens its doors from mid-May to mid-September. At the center of the venue is WildWater Adventure, Michigan's largest waterpark. The waterpark comes complete with tube slides, including the 313-foot long Funnel of Fear, body slides, play areas for kids, family raft rides and three separate wave pools. The park offers over 50 rides situated around the waterpark, from those suitable for children and families to rides for thrill-seekers.

WildWater rents private tented cabanas situated near the wave pools, giving parents and napping babies a respite from the activity. Nine restaurants and concession stands offer everything from hamburgers to pizza, while 13 food carts situated around the park serve quick drinks and snacks. Season or day passes are available, and include admission to both parks.

The park also features a full on-site arcade with ticket redemption and video games, as well as the Snack Shack and Apres Pub. Guests may also choose to dine in one of the resort's restaurants.
