The Lower Huron Metropark is an expansive 1,258-acre woodland, located along the Huron River. Families may choose to bring their canoes and kayaks to paddle along the river and perhaps catch a glimpse of some wildlife. Fishing is another popular sport while on the river. Shoreline fish such as bass, steelhead and northern pike can be found throughout the waters. In addition to its water activities, the park also offers scenic picnic areas, and basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. The daily vehicle admission rate to attend the park is $5, while an annual vehicle entry permit costs $25, as of 2010.

Located within the Lower Huron Metropark, Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center is an option for families seeking water rides, entertainment and a way to find relief from the sun. The center offers two water slides, a body slide and a tube slide, which allows for riding on single or double tubes. Other activities include the lazy river, which follows the edge of the park, a 300-gallon bucket that dumps water on a timed basis, and a zero-depth entry pool with lap lanes. There are also numerous lounging chairs and grassy areas located in the center for taking a break between activities or enjoying lunch. Although outside food is not allowed, the aquatic center offers food and beverage items for purchase. Admission to the center is $8 for adults, $6 for children under 48 inches, and free for children under 30 inches, as of 2010.

Splash Universe Water Park Resort is located in nearby Dundee, MI. Attached to the Holiday Inn Express at Cabela's, this park offers twisting waterpark slides and a 500-gallon splash bucket. The park also features a lazy river. Aside from water activities, families can enjoy arcade games and choose to eat at the park's many restaurants and snack areas.
