Dundee, Michigan, may not be the first vacation destination that springs to mind, but maybe it should be.   1. Liberty Athletic Club

    • The Liberty Athletic Club is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, about 20 miles from Dundee. The facility has two water parks, one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor park is known as the Liberty Lagoon, which encompasses more than 10,000 square feet.

      You'll find indoor and outdoor lap pools (25 yards in length). The water temperature in the pools is maintained at 81 to 84 degrees. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs, zero-depth pools for children, slides and activity pools provide many different types of water enjoyment.

    Splash Universe

    • Dundee's Splash Universe offers more than 100,000 gallons of water park action, including the 500-gallon splash bucket and many slides. The water is maintained at 84 degrees for maximum comfort. The indoor water park boasts additional amenities, including restaurants and an arcade. Splash Universe is open year-round in fine and foul weather.

      Splash Universe offers 163 guestrooms and family suites, a gift shop, an adults-only hot tub, a children's pool, a water-based treehouse jungle gym and family spa. The facility is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. when school is in session. When school is out, it closes at 10 p.m., and hours vary on some national holidays.

    Rolling Hills Park

    • The Rolling Hills Park is one of the main attractions of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Only 24 miles from Dundee, this family-friendly park has a wave pool, three full water slides, activity pool and sandy play area. The lazy river attraction and "spraygrounds" provide more kid-friendly fun.

      A full concession stand sells food and drinks during all hours of operation. The park opens the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and remains open until Labor Day. Doors open daily at 11 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Guests who don't want to get wet might enjoy the chaise lounges and sand chairs on the large sun deck area. First aid services, locker rooms and restrooms are available to all visitors. Life vests are available for small children.
