Indoor Water Parks Near Omaha

Located on the southeastern edge of Nebraska along the Missouri River, the greater metropolitan Omaha area is home to nearly one million people and is the most populated city in the state. Indoor water parks here can be enjoyed year-round by residents and visitors. They are a particular draw from Labor Day to Memorial Day, when the city's outdoor pools are closed, and especially during the frigid winters.

  1. CoCo Key Water Resort

    • Located on south 72nd street in Omaha near interstate I-80, CoCo Key Water Resort is connected with the Holiday Inn Convention Center. The resort can be accessed by purchasing a day pass or by staying at the hotel overnight. When staying at the hotel, guests can use the water park at no extra charge during their entire stay, including the days on which they check in and check out. The tropical-themed water park features 60,000 square feet of interactive water slides and play parks for younger children, faster tube rides for older children, an activity pool for toddlers, a zero-depth entry kiddie pool with small slides and tipping buckets and giant whirlpools for adults. There is also a swim-in theater that screens movies while guests watch from a shallow pool. Food is offered onsite from various vendors and an arcade and coffeehouse are also located onsite.

    Lifetime Fitness

    • Located in west Omaha, Lifetime Fitness is a mega-gym that offers cardio, weightlifting and fitness classes, as well as rock climbing and swimming, to members. The Lifetime club in Omaha features multiple indoor pools, including a warm-water, zero-depth entry pool for children, large, twisting water slides and a lap pool dedicated to individuals wanting to swim laps. There is also a large whirlpool area onsite for families and adults to enjoy. The club offers swimming lessons and family swim times. Free week-long trials of the club are offered, during which families can explore the indoor water facilities and see if they and all the club's other features are worth the price of membership, which generally begins at around $90 per month, as of October 2010.

    Captain's Lagoon

    • Located west of Omaha in Kearney, Nebraska, the Captain's Lagoon is a 20,000-square-foot indoor water park that is connected with a Holiday Inn hotel. Open daily, the park features two 30-foot water slides, a children's pool with slides, a lounging area and a large whirlpool spa. Octopus and submarine play structures are included in the children's pool area. A changing area and large video game arcade is also located within the water park. Admittance to the park is included with a night's stay at the hotel, and only hotel guests may use the water park.
