Reno, Nevada bills itself as country's adventure place. The number of animals in the zoo increased over the years, and as of 2010 around 150 animals are housed at the zoo. Tourists can visit a sloth, deer, primates, lions, cougars, leopards and tigers. Children under 2 can enter the zoo free of charge.

    National Automobile Museum

    • The National Automobile Museum opened its doors in 1989 and now houses around 200 cars. The automobiles are in four galleries according to era, allowing kids to see how cars have changed over the years and authentic period street scenes allow kids to see how the evolution of the automobile has helped influence every aspect of American life. Visitors can view cars owned by celebrities including Elvis Presley, John F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, James Dean and more. The museum also features special exhibits and events. The museum has a store where kids can purchase souvenirs like apparel, books and model cars.

    Ultimate Rush, Speed and Thrill Park

    • The Ultimate Rush, Speed and Thrill Park is for kids who are thrill-seekers. The park sits beside the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino on 5 acres of land. Attractions in the park include a 180-foot swing, a reverse bungee, a racing oval and a slick track. Kids who want to engage in more relaxed activities can ride bumper cars and play miniature golf. The park is open year-round unless there are severe weather conditions.
