Why did napoleon invade Europe after the revolution?

He came to power in France as the First Consul in 1799, a few years after the end of the Revolution, and became the Emperor in 1804.

During his rise to power and throughout his reign, Napoléon engaged in numerous military campaigns, both within and outside of Europe, to expand France's territory and influence, to secure its borders, and to counter various European coalitions formed against France.
