Was Yugoslavia part of the EU?

Yugoslavia was not a member of the European Union (EU). Yugoslavia was a socialist federal republic located in southeastern Europe that existed from 1945 to 1992. It consisted of six republics: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and Macedonia. Yugoslavia was never part of the EU, however, several of its former republics have since become members of the EU.
