Is Italian the same thing as European?

Italian is a Romance language spoken natively by around 60 million people in Italy and nearby regions. It is a member of the Romance language family, which also includes Spanish, French, Portuguese, Romanian, and Catalan.

European is a term that refers to people or things from Europe, a continent located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere. Europe is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and the Black Sea and Ural Mountains to the east.
