How many banks in Europe?

There are currently around 6,000 banks operating in Europe. This includes both large international banks and smaller local banks. The vast majority of banks are located in the European Union (EU), which has around 5,000 banks. The EU includes 27 countries, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain. The remaining 1,000 banks are located in other European countries that are not members of the EU, such as Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland.
