Was the mythical land of Thule really Iceland?

There is no concrete evidence or widely accepted historical consensus that identifies the mythical land of Thule with modern-day Iceland. Various ancient writers in different time periods have mentioned Thule, but their description and geographic accounts are often unclear and speculative, leading to multiple interpretations. These descriptions range from placing Thule far north as Greenland or a northernmost point somewhere within Scandinavia to associating it with locations in more southern part of Scandinavia or Northern Europe as well.
