The Ottoman Empire was the main ally of Germany during World War I. The two countries had signed a secret alliance in 1914, and the Ottomans entered the war on the side of Germany in November of that year. The Ottoman Empire provided Germany with a valuable source of troops and resources, and its involvement in the war helped to tie up Allied forces in the Middle East.
Austria-Hungary
Austria-Hungary was another important ally of Germany during World War I. The two countries had been close allies for many years, and they were both members of the Triple Alliance, a defensive pact that had been formed in 1882. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia in July 1914, which led to the outbreak of World War I.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria joined the Central Powers in 1915. Bulgaria's entry into the war was motivated by a desire to regain territory that had been lost to Serbia and Greece in the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913.
Other Countries
In addition to the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, and Bulgaria, a number of other countries supported Germany during World War I. These countries included:
* Albania
* China
* Persia
* Romania (until 1916)
* Siam
* Turkey
