Tours of Bologna, Italy

Bologna is a compact, visitor-friendly city with portico-covered sidewalks and piazzas without traffic. Walking tours are by far the best way to see the old city center; the more intrepid can climb the stairs of the world's longest portico (3.5 kilometers, 2.17 miles) that extends from the city center to the Sanctuary of San Luca on Colle della Guardia. Guided by Anna Brini, Bologna University graduate in foreign languages and Bologna native, these tours are the best the city has to offer. Brini has extraordinary insider itineraries that let you see the real life of the Bolognese, not just tourist attractions. Although English is widely spoken in Bologna, it is highly recommended that visitors invest in an Italian dictionary and an Italian phrase book. These Bologna tours are family-friendly and are appropriate for physically challenged individuals in wheeled vehicles, but they are not recommended for individuals who might have problems walking distances.
