Bus Tours for the Military in Germany

Each military base around the world has a Family, Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) office. The MWR office provides an array of activities and trips for members of the Armed Forces and their families. In Germany, the Kaiserslautern and Heidelberg MWR can arrange sightseeing trips as well as adventure trips. Trips range from weekend trips to one-day themed trips, or an afternoon of hiking and kayaking.
  1. Weekend Trips

    • Weekend trips could include trips to Prague, Paris, Vienna, Salzburg, Berlin or any other large city within Europe. Most weekend trips include transportation and hotel. Most weekend trips are two to three days. Each month the MWR publishes a list of pre-arranged trips. Special trips for a private club or large group can be arranged through MWR.

    Ski Trips

    • During the winter months, MWR offers one-day and weekend ski trips. Many of these ski trips travel to the outstanding ski resorts in Interlaken, Switzerland. A weekend ski trip includes two nights with breakfast, equipment rental and transportation. These trips do not include the lift ticket.

    Day Trips

    • Day trips offered by MWR allow military members and families to enjoy the spas in Baden-Baden or wine tasting trips along the Rhine River. MWR also offers one-day trips to Mainz for Fasching or Mardi Gras, Oberammergau for the passion play during Easter, Munich for Oktoberfest or Nuremburg for the Kriskingle market.

    Recreation Trips

    • The MWR offers other trips for kayaking, biking, hiking, sky diving and scuba certification. These adventure trips are often in the local area, and some involve a weekend trip.
