Hotels in De Haan, Belgium

De Haan is an enchanting beach resort created by Belgium's King Leopold II in the late 18th century. He hired German architects to design villas in the dunes, Hansel-and-Gretel houses, ivy-covered cottages, belle-époque mansions and traditional barns out of thatches, turrets, wood and stone. Albert Einstein hid out here for a short time after fleeing Hitler's Germany in 1933. It is the quietest of the towns along Belgium's coastline, but it has many excellent hotels.
