Plage de Port-Maria is known as the central beach for activity and recreation in the city. There are many restaurants nearby, and there are "kids clubs," centers at which children do activities.
Plage du Fort-Bloque is situated in a popular tourist spot due to its proximity to camping areas. This beach area is patrolled during July and August, with instructors providing assistance and private lessons for surfers.
For the quieter, smaller beaches in Lorient, tourists have a few options as well. Plage de Kerroch is located in an inlet on the coast. It's smaller than some of the more popular beaches, but has less foot traffic.
