Tours of the Chateau de Versailles

Construction of Chateau de Versailles began in 1661, set forth by King Louis XIV of France. Chateau de Versailles was the royal residence of French nobility, and in 1682 it became the seat for the French court and government. Marie-Antoinette occupied the Chateau de Versailles during her reign as queen and had a hamlet built on the grounds as a retreat. Other attractions include The Hall of Mirrors, The Gardens, The Grand and Petit Trianon. Tours of Chateau de Versailles are available throughout the year.
