What kind of id does a child need to fly northern Ireland?

Children aged up to 15 must have a valid passport when they travel to Northern Ireland. Children can continue to travel to Northern Ireland with a valid Irish passport card issued in their own right, but these will expire on 1 October 2025. Those under 16 do not need a photographic ID, but some airlines may ask to see proof of identity such as a birth certificate if the name is also displayed on the boarding pass.
