Northern Ireland: Part of the UK, Not an English Occupation

The six counties—Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone—have been part of the United Kingdom since 1921 under the Government of Ireland Act. They are not "occupied by the English"; Northern Ireland is a constituent country of the UK with its own devolved assembly. The terminology reflects a complex political history, but the current constitutional status is clear.
