Are abortions legal in Northern Ireland?

Abortion law in Northern Ireland is some the strictest in Europe, with abortions allowed only when a woman's life or physical or mental health is at risk. In January 2020, the Northern Ireland Assembly voted to legalise abortion in cases of incest, rape, and fatal fetal abnormalities, however, this legislation has not been implemented due to the ongoing political stalemate in Northern Ireland.
