Can you get your license at 16 in Ireland?

In the Republic of Ireland, the minimum age for driving is 17 years. A learner permit may be obtained at 16 years of age, after passing a theory test and completing Essential Driver Training lessons from an Approved Driving Instructor. The learner permit holder must then complete 12 months of supervised driving, with certain restrictions such as a night time driving curfew, before being eligible to apply for a full driving license.
