Local Hotels in Agoura, California

Some of the California hills and canyons around Agoura, or Agoura Hills as it is often referred to, may look familiar. Paramount Studios filmed many of its westerns here, starting in the 1920s. For a time it was called “Picture City” but that wasn’t all that popular. Eventually the town was named for Pierre Agoure, a Frenchman who was enamored with the Spanish lifestyle and dress. Hotels in the area follow Highway 101 and most are of the upscale variety.
