Eureka, California Local Hotels

Eureka is a coastal city of approximately 26,000 residents in northern California, and is 90 miles south of the Oregon Border. The city was founded after the discovery of gold in the area in 1849. Attractions in Eureka include the historic Old Town waterfront area, whale watching in the Pacific Ocean, the city's Victorian architecture and nearby redwood forests. There are a variety of local hotels in Eureka.

    • With Eureka's large collection of Victorian homes, several have become bed and breakfast lodging locations.

      The Carter House Inn is an array of four homes located alongside Humboldt Bay in the Old Town area. The Carter House Inn produces its own wine and prepares its cuisine with organic produce from the inn's own gardens.

      The Ship's Inn is another Victorian structure. Built in 1887 by a master shipbuilder for a sea captain, the accommodation is found in a quiet residential neighborhood.

    On the Bay

    • Humboldt Bay is one of the most scenic areas of Eureka. Lodging on the bay includes the Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn, where all guest rooms include microwaves and refrigerators. Executive amenities include flat-screen TVs, DVD players and free movies.

      The Clarion Resort Eureka is a pet-friendly hotel that boasts a heated indoor swimming pool and fitness center, a free continental breakfast, and a free light entrée and green salad is served each evening.

    • Elsewhere in Eureka, lodging choices include the Comfort Inn, where guests are within close proximity of Humboldt State University, College of the Redwoods and Sequoia Park Zoo. The Comfort Inn features a free hot breakfast, an exercise room and an indoor heated pool and hot tub.

    • Lower-priced lodging options in Eureka include Americas Best Value Inn & Suites, located less than one mile from the Old Town area. The Best Value Inn & Suites has no pool or elevator.

      The Econo Lodge in downtown Eureka accepts pets with a small fee and offers a swimming pool and complimentary continental breakfast.

      The Rodeway Inn provides guests a free continental breakfast. Some rooms include refrigerators and microwaves.
