Why is Scotland colder than the rest of Britain?

This statement is not accurate, Scotland is not in fact colder than the rest of Britain. There are areas in Scotland that experience higher temperatures than some parts of England. On average, Scotland is slightly cooler than England due to its more northerly latitude.
