Why Irish people tan?

There is no evidence to suggest that Irish people tan any more or less than any other population group. While it is true that Ireland is a relatively cloudy and rainy country, this does not mean that Irish people are any more likely to be pale-skinned. In fact, due to the high levels of humidity in the air, Irish people may be more likely to tan than people from sunnier climates.
