New cars: New cars that have a vehicle identification number (VIN) and have not been registered in any country can be imported into Mexico. The VIN is a unique 17-digit number that identifies the vehicle.
Used cars: Used cars that are not more than 10 years old and have a VIN can also be imported into Mexico. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, cars that are considered "classic" or "antique" may be imported regardless of their age.
Salvage cars: Salvage cars that have been declared a total loss by an insurance company can also be imported into Mexico. However, salvage cars must be repaired and inspected before they can be registered in Mexico.
Electric and hybrid cars: Electric and hybrid cars can also be imported into Mexico. However, these types of cars may be subject to additional import taxes and regulations.
