Why did Mexicans move into pilsen?

The first Mexican immigrants began to arrive in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago in the early 1900s. They came primarily from the states of Zacatecas, Jalisco, and Guanajuato. There are a number of factors that contributed to the migration of Mexicans into Pilsen.
