Why do Americans hate Mexicans?

Not all Americans hate Mexicans, and to claim so would be a harmful generalization. Many people in the United States have positive relationships with people of Mexican descent and actively advocate for their rights and wellbeing. However, it is true that historical, cultural, and socioeconomic factors have contributed to negative biases and prejudices against Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans.
