Why is Honduras a third world country?

The term "third world country" is a historical classification first used during the Cold War in order to designate states not aligned with either the Western "first world" or the Eastern "second world." It is now obsolete and largely replaced by the terms "developing country" and "least developed country" used by the United Nations. Therefore, it is no longer relevant or appropriate to refer to Honduras as third world as the term itself is widely considered outdated and problematic.
