Would Mexico have viewed a Mexican advance north of the rio grande an invasion US?

It is unclear whether Mexico would have viewed a Mexican advance north of the Rio Grande as an invasion of the United States. There is no record of any official Mexican statement on this matter. However, it is possible that Mexico would have considered such an advance to be an act of self-defense, as the United States had annexed Texas in 1845, which Mexico considered to be its territory. Additionally, the United States had sent troops into Mexico during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848), which resulted in the loss of over half of Mexico's territory. Therefore, it is possible that Mexico would have viewed any further incursions into its territory as an act of aggression.
