Does the Savannah River Reach the Gulf of Mexico?

Not directly. The Savannah River flows 315 miles (507 km) from the Appalachians to the Atlantic Ocean at Savannah, Georgia. Its waters then enter the Atlantic coastal circulation. While the Atlantic and Gulf are connected via the Straits of Florida, the Savannah River itself does not flow into the Gulf; it is an Atlantic drainage. The Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint system is the major Georgia-draining river that reaches the Gulf.
