New York University Colors: Violet & White

New York University (NYU) official colors are Violet (Pantone 2597) and White. Athletic teams: NYU Violets. Mascot: Bobcat (since 1980s; previously a violet flower). The violet was chosen in 1890s, possibly for the flowers growing near the original University Heights campus.
