How many people live in Rhode Island 1636?

The first permanent European settlement in Rhode Island was founded in 1636 by Roger Williams, a Puritan minister who had been banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony for his religious beliefs. The settlement, called Providence, was the first in the Americas to guarantee freedom of religion. By the end of 1636, Providence had a population of about 100 people.
