How did the Palestinians maintain Israel when Jews were exiled?

Palestinians did not maintain Israel when Jews were exiled. There is no archaeological or historical evidence that the area now known as Palestine was ever inhabited by the ancestors of the current Palestinian population before the Arab conquest in the 7th century.
