Relations Between North Carolina Colonists and Native Americans

Relations were largely hostile. The Lords Proprietors aggressively sought Native land, leading to displacement, conflict, and wars (e.g., Tuscarora War 1711–1715). Trade and alliances occurred but were overshadowed by expansionist pressure. Disease, alcohol, and enslavement further devastated Indigenous societies.
