Tallest Tree in North America: Hyperion

Hyperion, a coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) in Redwood National and State Parks, California, stands 379.3 feet (115.61 meters) tall. Discovered in 2006 by Chris Atkins and Michael Taylor, it is the tallest tree in the Western Hemisphere.
